No sign of spring winter lingers on cold mornings clear blue sky nature covered in snow ice builds bridges cross the creek with running water just a few more days now

Winter recolors the forest from green and yellow to all shades of black and white Cold rocks on the forest ground grey and edgy softly reshaped by layers of white snow Tree logs dark and grey naked and cold carrying a few golden leaves that didn't fall Black running water in the little creek dark and mysterious framed in softly by the snow

Water is an amazing element
turning into beautiful crystals and frozen droplets
decorating the dead leaves and plants in the forest
and giving them new life and beauty
during the cold winter season.
It is a wonderful thing that snow crystals
floating slowly through the air
is the element water
frozen into perfectly shaped stars and flowers
each and everyone different from each other.

I was reading on wikipedia when I looked up fern that there are probably about 15000 different sorts of fern worldwide. About 200 sorts in Europe and 45 sorts in Norway. Interesting.
They kind of decorate the forest growing on a layer of moss which again grows on a stone, on an old tree log or a dead tree and alongside a little creek or covers an open field between the birches.

Reach for the sunlight
early spring
all curled up
Unfold
turning bright green
during summer
Color change
when autumn comes
curling up again
